How to Achieve and Maintain The Perfect Eyebrows

If you have read my recent blog post about my beauty pet peeves, you are aware of my OCD with eyebrows!! (:

To me, ones eyebrow's complete the entire face. Your eyebrows can either make your face look perfectly symmetrical and put together or cause it to look unbalanced and unfinished.

Tools You Will Need:
Eyebrows That Need Grooming (haha!)

Eye Brow Brush

Pencil (Straight Object)

Eyeliner Pencil (For Marking Lines)

Tweezers

OR

Eye Brow Razor

OR

Waxing Kit

Eye Brow or Nail Scissors

Small Angled Make-Up Brush

Matte Eye Shadow Close to the Color of your Hair Color (2 Shades Lighter)

**Before Beginning, make sure you comb and brush your eye brows outward, towards the temples, together**

Four Main Guidelines:

A Guideline- Hold a straight object against your outer nostril and mark a line (with eyeliner or something washable) where the object hits your eyebrow. This is where your eye brown should start.

B Guideline- Hold the straight object to where it is right in front of the pupil. Put a small mark where the object hits your eye brow as well. This is to locate where the arch of your eye brow should be.

C Guideline- Hold the straight object from the corner of the outer nostril to the corner of the eye. Put a mark where the object hits the brow. This is to locate where the brow should end.

D Guideline- Hold the object to the brow where you drew the A guideline mark and the C guideline mark. This is to assure that your brows will be even.

What to do now?:

After All your Guidelines are marked, this is when you are ready to either wax, pluck, or razor your brows. I do recommend if you have never waxed your eye brows before, you get them done professionally. Also, be extremely careful when you do any of these procedures; you DO NOT want to mess up your brows on accident. That would be TRAGIC! I do eye brow shaping if needed, just contact me. Anyways, back to grooming.

Guideline A- You are going to want to remove any extra hair to the left of your mark. (The hair to the left is also know as a "Uni-Brow")

Guideline B- You are going to want to create your arch here. You DO NOT, by any means, want to make this part too skinny.

Guideline C- You are going to want to remove any extra hair to the right of your mark. This is to ensure that your brow is not too long.

When checking Guideline D, this is just too make sure your brow is even,

Now, Remove the hair you wish to remove for the thickness of your brow at  the top and bottom of the brow. You will be able to notice the straggling hairs. Please do not remove too much hair causing super skinny brows, unless, of course, that is your desired thickness.

Shortening Eye Brow Hair:
**This step is optional. If you have never shorten your eyebrow hair before, I recommend you get this done professionally because this could end up disastrous causing your brow hairs to stick straight up or out.**

Now that you have your eye brows ready for shortening, you are going to want to take your eye brow comb/brush brush and comb the hair up and cut the hair that extends past the top of the brown. Then, you are going to comb down and do the same thing throughout the brow from right to left.

Defining the Eye Brows:

You are going to take your angled brush and the matte shadow that is very close to your hair color to fill in the brows. This is a simple step. All you have to do is follow the lining of your brow. You do not want to make the eye brows too dark bringing a lot of attention to them. Some people use eye liner/ eye brow pencils to do this step, but, to me, the shadow has a more natural look.

FINISHED!!

There you have it, follow these steps, and you will hopefully have the "PERFECT" eye brows. Like I said earlier, I do Brown Shaping, and if you are interested, you can contact me several ways that are listed below. Please leave comments, questions, and requests below. I read everything and I am here to help you!!

Below are two videos that I recommend you watch. They are both by my all time FAVORITE make-up artist and ROLE MODEL, Kandee Johnson!!!!! One if for the grooming, and the other video is for defining the eye brows. You can also click her name to visit her blog.
